Victoria's Success Story

  • Why did you choose to study at International University SDI München?
I wanted to pursue a program that combined my passion for languages with practical business topics. SDI München offers the perfect blend of international perspectives, intercultural studies, and a strong focus on professional development.
  • What was your overall SDI experience like and what did you learn?
My experience at SDI München was incredibly enriching. I appreciated the international expertise of the faculty and the diverse student body, which broadened my cultural awareness. The program taught me not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills in areas like intercultural communication, business strategy, and project management.
  • What was your favourite subject and why?
I particularly enjoyed my Spanish courses and the Intercultural Management classes. Spanish helped me deepen my language skills and connect with different cultures, while Intercultural Management gave me valuable insights into navigating diverse business environments—a skill that has been incredibly useful in my career.
  • Were you involved in any extracurricular activities (student council [Fachschaft], organizations, sports, etc.)? If so, which ones?
Unfortunately, I wasn’t involved in extracurricular activities during my time at SDI München.
  • How has your career evolved since graduation?
Since graduating, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of exciting roles. My career journey has included positions at a SaaS tech startup and a FMCG company, with a primary focus on business development and marketing. I’ve also worked extensively on social media campaigns, which aligns with my personal interests in photography and videography. Each role has helped me build a versatile skill set and expand my professional network.
  • What skills or knowledge from your education have been most valuable in your career?
The intercultural perspective I gained at SDI München has been one of the most valuable assets in my career. Additionally, the program’s broad range of courses provided me with a solid foundation to adapt to different industries and roles.
  • Have you encountered any challenges or obstacles in your career? If so, how did you overcome them?
The biggest challenge for me was figuring out what I truly enjoy and want to pursue long-term. With a broad background, I had many opportunities but also struggled to narrow my focus. I overcame this by experimenting with different roles through working in student positions and entry-level positions, which helped me identify my strengths and passions.
  • What piece of advice would you give to current students or recent graduates looking to start their careers?
Don’t stress too much about choosing the “perfect” career path right away. Use internships and working student positions to explore different fields and gain hands-on experience. Our fast-paced world offers endless opportunities to pivot and change direction, so be open to learning and adapting as you go.
  • How has your experience at International University SDI München shaped who you are today?
The connections I made during my time at SDI München have had a lasting impact. I’m still close friends with some of the people I met there. My exchange semester at the University of Barcelona was another transformative experience — it inspired me to move to Barcelona after graduation, where I’ve continued to grow both personally and professionally.
  • What do you hope to accomplish in the next 5–10 years in your career or personal life?
In the coming years, I hope to spend as much time as possible with my family and pursue a career that fulfills me while supporting the lifestyle I value. Balancing professional growth with personal happiness is my ultimate goal.
  • How do you stay connected with the SDI München community or fellow alumni?
I mainly stay connected through social media.
  • What do you enjoy doing outside of work (hobbies, volunteer work, personal interests)?
I love spending time with my family, cooking, practicing yoga, and enjoying music — especially attending live concerts.
  • Are there any causes or organizations you're passionate about that you would like to share?
I’m passionate about promoting veganism and supporting organizations that advocate for sustainable, plant-based living.
  • Share something about yourself that most people wouldn’t know.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I lived in New Zealand for nearly three years. It was an incredible experience that taught me resilience and allowed me to explore a beautiful part of the world.
