Based on your previous knowledge of basic interpreting techniques, basic subject knowledge as well as fundamentals of the theory of translation and interpretation (see Introductory Course Interpreting), you systematically intensify the specific academic, cultural, process-oriented and specialist individual competencies. At the same time you go through a phase of specialisation in the specific professional competencies for the chosen course variant (Conference Interpreting, Legal Interpreting and Translating or Health Care and Community Interpreting).

The main feature of the second phase of the degree course is the development of individual competencies and the acquisition of new competencies that broaden your professional profile.

In the last phase of the degree course, the relevant interpreting competencies are developed to a professional standard. With the Master’s thesis and the attendant oral exam the degree is completed.
